Raiga finds Ranmaru unconscious and blames Karashi for it. Karashi tells him what happened. Tenten then arrives and fights with Raiga. For a while, she was able to hold him back but he eventually overpowered her. Karashi then tells the Konoha boys that Tenten fell off a cliff. Neji knew it was a trap but still went to find Raiga. Meanwhile Tenten recovers, and takes Ranmaru, who was breathing hard, back to Sanshou’s house. Sanshou then serves her with the curry of life. Ranmaru was touched by Tenten’s actions and decided to try it. Ranmaru enjoyed it so much that she decided to let Raiga have it too. Meanwhile, the boys were fighting Raiga but were no match for him.

The group then takes Ranmaru back with them believing they have finished the mission. But in the village, other members of the Kurosuke group were waiting to ambush them. The ambush failed, and all of the opponents were beaten up. Karashi is also taken back by Lee to his grandmother. The group then tries to give some of the curry of life to Ranmaru who refused to it. The Konoha group said their farewells to the other two men of Katabame Kinzan. When they go back to the house, they find that Karashi and Ranmaru are gone. Meanwhile, the two have reached the place were Raiga was buried in rock. Ranmaru then embraces his arms which were extended above the rocks. Raiga is revived.

Neji then uses his byakugan to see through the mist. He sees several people with chakra flowing through their bodies, and tells the group to attack their targets. But when the crew attacked the locations, there were no people there. Then Raiga uses lightning to attack the group. Everyone is hit and knocked out. Raiga then comes to close to finish Lee first, but Lee still fought even when unconscious. For a while, he held out then Naruto took over. Naruto attacks again and again with shadow replication until he came in close to use the rasengan. Raiga drops the bag on his back, and the group opens it to find a female child, Ranmaru.
